2026-2027 Directors Proposals Now Open

Deadline for proposal application: February 28, 2026

Tips for a Successful Application: 

• Have a clear artistic vision for your proposed production. We are looking for  artists who have already put some serious thought into what they want to create. 
• Fill the application out completely, including your headshot, resume and references.
• If you are new to directing, start with a straight play, or assemble an experienced production team. 
• When listing production team members, make sure these people have already committed to your project. 
• Choose a show that is feasible with our space and resources. Never been here? Attend a show and check it out! 

Fall One Acts: 

• Open in Mid/Late October with our One Act Festival
• CLT will produce multiple one act straight plays to participate in our One Act Festival. 
• Since this is high school one act season, this is a great time to propose an elementary-aged cast or an adult cast. 
• We are very interested in producing a show with a senior cast that rehearses during the day. 
• This is the best time for new directors to get started and gain some experience! 
• Our audiences really love a spooky play this time of year, but it is not required. 

Winter Youth or All Ages Production:

• Open in January/February 
• Full-length straight play or musical 

Spring Adult-Cast Production: 

• Opens in March or April 
• Due to this being spring musical season, this is a great time for an adult cast. 
• While we will consider any size cast, we do tend to prefer medium to larger cast numbers. 

Summer Youth or All Ages Production:

• Opens in June or July 
• Partners with our Nerdville Mini-Con so nerdy topics and themes are preferred! 

Do you want to direct but you are not sure what show you want to do? CLT may have some opportunities for directors to apply for shows that we have already picked and approved!
